For worshiping, it is the same that worshippers should not focus on the idea of contributions to God. It's more about the idea of trusting God and leading people to worship with their true, pure hearts. Moreover, we need control over our behaviors and watch out others' actions, a greater environment creates better community. Through out a good control, worshiping can eventually achieve its natural goal and become our own blessings. God does not need you to praise him, he wants you to seek for the actual harmony of the peace and love.

Are you insulting God?
In our life, God has always had plans for his people, he's all knowing, with the greatest intelligence. We praise the Lord as our holy savior, however, many people would decide to pray and sing "for" God, which they want to be more blessed through their praise. That's actually an action of insulting God, because people worship with their own purposes instead of being thankful for the Lord's sacrifice of his one and only son. God does not need you to constantly praise him with your purposes, because he can tell that you are being selfish. What we really should be thinking as a Christian is to allow God leads us and praise him with our true hearts.

Connar, I totally agree with how you said that we shouldn't think that God needs us, but that God wants us. We should not think that our contributions are necessary to God, but rather he wants us to serve him wholeheartedly. I like how you said that we have to be accountable for our actions and help others be accountable as well.
ReplyDeleteGood Job, Connar, it's definitely true that our job is to glorify God rather than ourselves. If we allow God to take over our worship, it will actually be blessing to God and others. God doesn't need us, but we need him.
