Guiding principles for worship

Worship is a dialogue: worship is a way of delivering our admiration and desire for the God and being filled with the Holy Spirit, it encourages us to bond as a community and express our needs for the Lord. We should be internally expressive so our mind and body can be put into worship to create the dialogue and the message.

Worship is focused on Christ: this is a principle that many people ignore, worship is purposely designed for Christ, and its final goal is also Christ, ignoring these fact may cause worship not being as worship but just simple performance.

Worship is contemporary: it's a principle that keeps the worship itself fresh and attractive, also it makes it expressive. We need focus on how to make the music fit the spiritual insterests of the crowds, so the effect of the worship can be amplified.

Worship is traditional: However,worship has its basic components, we need to preserve its purity while making it better and contemporary.

Worship is wholistic: we need to use worship to get everyone involved, to seek for the same goal from all different perspectives.

Worship is participative: it's not just about bring crowds into that emotion of worship, but also get yourself involved into the process. How can crowds be involved, if you are not?

Worship is inclusive: God's love for us is inclusive for everyone in this world, same should be the worship, we should not just play certain types of music for limited or personal purposes, we need to seek a balance that enrich the worship itself but also encourage all people to get involve.

Worship is a Balance: there are many factors that help decide whether a worship is a good worship, to enhance those factors, balance need to be measured out. For example, whether the songs fit the theme, whether the songs are interesting for the crowds, whether it can get people involved into singing, etc. These are all different factors that we need to pay attention with.
