Tom Curley discovered a series of problems as people tried to add different styles and groups into the worship team to form different or popular model that fits today's standard. He explained that a worship team is in fact a complex job, which musicians need to have bondings with each other, while doing that, the team also needs to remain its priority about serving, sharing and leading. Expanding does add characteristics to the team, but to make sure of its efficiency, members of the team need to be trained and devoted time to the serve the Lord. Also, the harmony of the band need to preserved, no conflicts should be getting between people, team leader and members should all have the same goal, which is to serve God, teammates should not be self centered, instead, to help the team with the most benefits they can contribute.
I agree with Tom's idea about the structure of a successful worship team. My experience gave me the same advice about bonding with the team and serve with my complete effort. Through time and practicing, I got to get closer with others in the team. Not only the music we played sound better, we got to learn more about different factors that could perfect the performance during rehearsals as well. The process can be concluded as spiritual and educational.
